Treated myself
Category Canon Rebel XSi
Ever since Christmas I have been watching my brother post pictures with his new camera and been impressed with the quality of the images. I then take pictures with my Canon PowerShot and wonder why they aren't as good as his. This last week has been peek for the Autumn foliage and I really wanted to try and capture the images in a higher quality than I usually do, so having been thinking about it for a few weeks I decided to treat myself to a Digital SLR this weekend. I went for the Canon Rebel XSi 12.2 MP camera, along with a spare battery, carry case and an Eye-Fi wireless SD card. I was torn between the Nikon D80, D90 and the Canon. The D80 and D90 had been on sale but when I went to get the camera only the Canon was still on sale, so I opted for that. I liked the idea of HD video in the D90, but for $400 bucks I can buy a video camera anyway.
So this weekend I went out and took a few shots of the foliage with the new camera, as the autumn really is stunning in New England.

I can't wait for the 5D to come down in price. Our 4 year old 20D is in the ~13K pictures taken range and still works PERFECT.
So you may ask, if my 20D works perfectly then why do I want the 5D... well because I'm a guy ;).

I had the original Digital Rebel and now I have the 20D like Yancy. I too am thinking about the 5D, but the 50D will more likely be in my future
Welcome to the Canon side of thing! I think you'll like it here.

Ditto on the "welcome to Canon" posts. I've been drooling over the 40D/50D recently but think I'll have to stick with my DRebel until xmas.
How is the wifi sd card ?
